Aereth’s Age Restriction

The Aereth RPG is rated 18+ for occasional mature content and you must be at least eighteen years old to join the site. Players are responsible for marking their threads and posts as mature if they feel the content is not appropriate for readers under the age of eighteen.

Per the RPG Rating System, our rating is 322.

Viewing Mature Content

You must…

1. Be a registered member.
2. Have your birth date listed in your profile. This may be set to private.
3. Enable Mature Content in your profile settings.

To Write Mature Content

When writing graphic violence, sexually explicit language, or sexually explicit scenes, you must…

1. Have your birth date listed in your profile. Only GMs will be able to see it.
2. Have Mature Content enabled in your profile settings.
3. Mark the post as Mature using the toggle at the bottom of the editor.

Minor Characters & NPCs

Children and teenagers are a normal part of Aereth's world and may be written as characters or NPCs. They may participate normally in family life, friendships, adventures, political events, and other appropriate storylines.

However, Aereth does not permit the graphic portrayal of sexual content, sexual abuse, torture, or other extreme violence involving characters or NPCs under eighteen.

Such events may exist as part of the setting or a character's history when necessary to the story, but references must remain vague and non-graphic.

Prohibited Content

Although Aereth is rated 18+ and loosely resembles a medieval period, there are some subjects we simply don't want portrayed graphically in the game.

These situations may exist in Aereth's world or a character's history, but only vague references or implications are permitted.

1. Sexual Content Involving Minors: Do not write sexually explicit scenes involving characters or NPCs under eighteen.
2. Rape or Sexual Violence: Do not graphically portray rape, sexual assault, or other forms of sexual violence.
3. Violence Against Children: Violence involving minors may exist within the setting or a character's history, but do not portray severe violence, abuse, or suffering involving children graphically in roleplay.
4. Underage Marriage: Political marriages and betrothals involving minors may exist in the setting. Their existence is not prohibited, but all other Mature Content rules still apply.
5. Arranged Marriages: Arranged marriages, including Aereth's Sword Marriages, are permitted. However, they do not exempt a scene from the prohibition against graphic non-consensual sexual content.

The Game Manager says, "When in doubt, fade to black."
