The Trials

Training culminates in the Trials, a final series of tests intended to examine the candidate rather than merely measuring combat ability. Courage, endurance, judgment, faith, discipline, and character all matter.

The Trials are not treated as public spectacle. Their precise form is kept within the Orders so that candidates cannot prepare for a known script rather than face the tests honestly.

The Seven Chalices

The final rite of the Trials is the Seven Chalices. Before the candidate stands seven vessels, only one of which contains the sacred Water of Jeshan. The candidate must choose and drink.

Successful completion marks the candidate's entry into the Order as a Knight Guardian or Dame Guardian.

The meaning and contents of the remaining six chalices are closely held traditions of the Orders and are not publicly detailed.
