Parallel Orders

The Knights Guardian and Dames Guardian are parallel institutions. Neither is subordinate to the other, and both answer to the Church through their own senior command.

Lord High Commander

Garran Veyne, a veteran Knight Guardian, is the current Lord High Commander of the Knights Guardian. He is responsible for the readiness, discipline, training, and service of the Knights throughout the Church.

Lady High Commander

Ellyn Corbray, a veteran Dame Guardian, is the current Lady High Commander of the Dames Guardian. She holds authority equivalent to that of the Lord High Commander and oversees the readiness, discipline, training, and service of the Dames.

Guardians and Church Authority

Guardians serve the Church, but they are not priests and do not ordinarily govern doctrine or temple life. Likewise, clergy are not automatically field commanders. The distinction allows spiritual and martial authority to cooperate without collapsing into a single chain of command.
