Those Who Are Called

The Calling is rare and is not required to become a Guardian. Most Knights and Dames enter the Order through ordinary vocation, application, sponsorship, or recruitment and complete their service without ever manifesting a supernatural gift.

Those who experience the Calling are believed to have formed an unusual connection to the Light. The experience does not compel obedience, confer rank, or automatically make someone a Guardian. A Called candidate must still undertake the same training, pass the same Trials, and earn the same mantle as any other Knight or Dame.

The Calling itself makes the Called more resistant to Shadow Corruption and direct intrusion by the Shadow. This resistance is inherent rather than a Blessing and is never immunity; the Called may still be deceived, tempted, overwhelmed, or corrupted.

Seekers

Seekers are experienced members of the Order charged specifically with recognizing and investigating possible Callings. They are not the Order's ordinary recruiters. Their task is to determine whether a genuine Calling may have occurred and, where appropriate, guide the Called toward the Church and formal Guardian training.
